Nile Sirius Creator, born and raised in Metro Detroit, is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist whose primary voice is the alto saxophone. After stepping away from instrumental music for over a decade, he returned with a renewed focus and discipline, creating work rooted in lived experience, musical lineage, and personal conviction.
Nile began his musical training at age six, learning Heart and Soul on piano from his late sister. That early foundation led to a lifelong commitment to sound and structure. He was raised on gospel, funk, and soul, with deep exposure to artists such as Whitney Houston, Parliament-Funkadelic, Anita Baker, Maze, The Isley Brothers, Prince, and the Motown canon. His influences extend across genres and generations, including Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Stitt, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Paul Desmond, Lauryn Hill, SWV, Bill Evans, John Williams, Paramore, Roy Hargrove, D’Angelo, Kelly Price, and Fall Out Boy. Additional influence from rock, jazz, classical, country, reggae, doo-wop, and Broadway shaped a broad, adaptable musical vocabulary.
He trained under respected and influential educators and performers, including the late Detroit trumpet legend Marcus Belgrave, the late jazz saxophonist Charles Evans, and the late Michael Jackson “Thriller” drummer and educator Leon “Ndugu” Chancler. Nile was also a member of the Detroit Symphony Civic Jazz Orchestra, where he developed his voice within a tradition built on discipline, big band playing, and jazz history.
His debut album, My Aesthetic Soul, is a five-track collection of original compositions blending jazz, soul, hip-hop, blues, alternative rock, and doo-wop. The project reflects a hands-on, genre-fluid approach that prioritizes groove, clarity, and emotional honesty without being confined by labels.
Nile’s musical philosophy is direct and uncompromising:
“Always play what you hear! Find, nourish, and share your own original musical genius! I believe what makes music great is when the tune naturally flows from the musician and isn't forced! We all have the capability of individually expressing ourselves instead of stressing ourselves to fit into rigid definitions of instrumental musicians. Push the limits!”
He is currently based in the United States, where his experiences and the people he meets continue to serve as inspiration for his creative work.
